Seeing as I may be able to get Audra, Cassie and Melissa in the same room together in the near future, how about we try creating Phedre in 5th edition first?
Phedre, as I understand her, is a field medic; A surgeon. In D&D 5th edition right now, we have these classes (and their specializations) available:
Barbarian
--Path of Berserker
--Path of the Totem Warrior
Bard
--College of Lore
--College of Valor
Cleric
--Life Domain
--Light Domain
--Nature Domain
--Tempest Domain
--Trickery Domain
--War Domain
Druid
--Circle of the Land
--Circle of the Moon
Fighter
--Champion
--Battle Master
--Eldritch Knight
Monk
--Way of the Open Hand
--Way of Shadow
--Way of the Four Elements
Paladin
--Oath of Devotion
--Oath of the Ancients
--Oath of Vengance
Ranger
--Hunter
--Beast Master
Rogue
--Thief
--Assassin
--Arcane Trickster
Sorcerer
--Draconic Bloodline
--Wild Magic
Warlock
--Patron of the Archfey
--Patron of the Fiend
--Patron of the Great Old One
Wizard
--School of Abjuration
--School of Conjuration
--School of Divination
--School of Enchantment
--School of Evocation
--School of Illusion
--School of Necromancy
--School of Transmutation
As it stands, the classes that have the most powerful healing available are all somewhat magic based: Cleric, Druid and Bard, with some healing available to Paladin and a tiny smidge available to Fighter (Battle Master).
I guess the question I pose to you, Beth, is do you want to adjust a class to match Phedre better (say Cleric's healing is all martial), or work with whats available and maybe not be a super powerful healer, but you'll still find a way to keep people alive?
