Talia shoots Val a disbelieving look before turning back to the little girl. "That isn't one of my friends, but we can worry about that once we regroup."

Nodding the child grabs Talia's hand before looking behind her again.
"Well, if that isn't your friend, we should go quickly."
As she says this, whatever is behind Talia begins making a horrible noise.
Sloan doesn't see too much of interest in the immediate vicinity, and his attempts at stealth are less successful then he would like, since besides the statue that he almost crashed into, he is mostly surrounded by mirrors. There does appear to be one clear path ahead.

Something brushes against her leg and she hears a terrible squelching sound as well as what sounds like terrifying gibberish, but Talia barely manages to avoid being grabbed. The thing is clearly following her.

Talia screams again and tries to scramble backwards, only to back into a wall. Tears start streaming down her face and tucks her head down, as if not seeing the creature would make it disappear, when she spots the dagger Sloan had given her.
With a shaky hand, she pulls the blade from her boot and lashes out at the beast.

Val completely misses the creature, and when Talia's dagger comes into contact with the creature it is immediately sucked in.
However, not anticipating an attack the creature does reel back for a moment and a mirror behind Talia and Val swings open.
