RP Free for All: Chapter 21

"Yes, darling? Is something wrong?" Val smirk as he looked down at her.

"Did you miss my beautiful eyes?" He turned his attention back to Sloan and Vasani as they moved further away.

"There's no time for that. Our target is moving." Val scooped Susan off her feet and followed behind the group a safe distance.

Sloan shrug.

"I can't really asked him to show me us valuables off the bat. Have to build that friendship and then...stab them in the back." He grinned.

"Yes, we will get along so well, pet." Vasani chuckles and links her arm through Sloan's.

Francis leads the pair down some a road out of the markets, lined with opulent mansions and estates. He stopped before one and puffs out his chest in pride. "This is the best neighborhood in the city. The estate before you is my family's. The very first built here."

Vasani smiles and leans over to whisper to Sloan. "This is going to be too easy."

Sloan winked at Vasani.

He let out a gasp at the sight before him.

"The first one?! It must be the most prized mansion of this town. The exterior architecture is splendid. I can't imagine what the interior would look like..." Sloan put his hand to his chest and stares at the mansion longingly.

"Do you by any chance allow visitors?"

"Yes, but the temptation to screw Sloan over is....very high. Although I have grown quite fond of Vasani to get her into trouble." Val sigh.

"What trouble can we get ourselves into. Usually I would do the same as Sloan...but now that I have a rich girlfriend who can give my annnnything..."

Vasani moves forward to run her hand along the wrought iron fence as she stares up at the house. "Very beautiful. I could only imagine living in a home full of such splendor."


"Well, we do not normally receive commoners.." Francis' eyes flicker towards Vasani, looking a bit wistful.

Francis frowns and strokes his chin. "Perhaps... we could make an exception. You two seem to be cut from a finer cloth than most others in this town."

Vasani rushes over to the man and takes one of his hands in both of hers, her eyes wide. "Oh, could we? I would do anything for a mere tour of your grand estate."

Flustered, Francis pats Vasani's hands. "If it would mean that much to you.. Come." He rushes ahead, muttering to himself, the word 'mother' heard several times, as he goes to open the large front doors.

Vasani smacks Sloan's shoulder before following him into the house. "I don't care if the entire damned house is made of gold. Any mention of marriage and I'm gone."

The interior of the house is what one would expect from a mansion. Large, spacious rooms decorated with opulent and uncomfortable looking furniture. Sterile looking floors and walls. And an eerie silence leaving one afraid to take a breath lest you disturb the peace.

A butler at the door bows slightly at Francis before looking over Vasani and Sloan. "Shall I inform the mistress of your guests?"

"No!" Francis shouts before clearing his throat and taking on a more calm tone. "Erm, no. That will not be necessary."

He leads Vasani and Sloan away from the servant. "Any particular area you'd like to see?"

Vasani nods at Sloan's suggestion as she looks around, doing her best to look awestruck as she scans for valuables.

The pair of pirates notice numerous paintings lining the walls, as well as various statutes and ceramic pieces.

"Well, the office has quite a few collectibles.." Francis waves his hand for the pair to follow. "My father enjoyed collecting little treasures."

He swings open a door to a large office, decorated in rich mahogany. Shelves line the walls, full of books and various knick knacks. Several weapons hang on plaques on the wall, while display cases fill in the gaps.

"You must take after your father in collecting." Sloan begin to circle the room looking for the most expensive object.

The member 'Val Hakuzo' has done the following action : Roll them dice!

Sloan spots a pair of daggers hanging on the wall with gem encrusted grips that look pretty pricy.

"In some ways. I do like some of them, but loath the travelling and haggling involved." 

Vasani follows Sloan's gaze and winks at him before turning back to Francis. She takes his hand and pulls him to the opposite side of the room. "Do tell me about this piece."

Seeing that their attention had been turned away, the Drow grinned and reached up to pluck the daggers before anyone could notice.

Francis nearly turns back as Sloan reaches up for the daggers, but Vasani hastily puts her hand on his cheek to turn his attention back to her.

Sloan pockets the daggers easily afterwards.

Francis sighs in disappointment. "Unfortunately, I can't let you roam around alone."

Vasani turns away and sticks her tongue out at Sloan as looks at one of the display cases.

"Anything?" Val looked around the town and finally points to a food stall.

"A sack of apples, a box of pastries, and a crate of juice." He said with a smile.

"True, I would not trust strangers roaming about in my home. Forgive me for not thinking about that." Sloan shook his head in apology. He smiled and pointed towards a painting in the corner.

"My dear friend, this seem to have caught my eye. Do indulge me about the story behind this." He swings an arm over Francis' shoulder and turned his attention away from Vasani.

"Of course!" Francis clears his throat before launching into his story. "This is a portrait of my great-great grandfather. He is the one that built our family up from nothing."

Vasani grins and walks past the men towards a display case. As she passes Sloan she grabs his ass and laughs quietly under her breath.

She hurries towards the case and carefully flips the lid open. She grabs the set of golden goblets inside and stashes them away.
