The last man was caught ablaze and fell over.
Val had gone over to the pile of auction goods and started digging through them. He pocketed anything that looked nice. "Nothing much here is interesting. No wonder Nii-chan goes after the stuff guarded by humans and magic" Val sighed as he swung a money pouch on his finger. He stood up and yawned. "Getting sleepy..."
He rubbed his eye and started walking towards the exit.

"You drink a lot..." He replied back to her. Val lead the out of the sewage and back the town. Instead of venturing back to the bar that they had wreck. He entered a new building, at the corner of town. Val tossed Susan a money pouch from one of the dead corpses. "Go wild. I need my beauty sleep." He rented out a room and went directly to his room.

He grinned and waved to Susan before leaving them. Val entered his room and closed the door. A smirk still spread across his face as he walked towards the window. Quietly opening the window and climbing out. He ran back towards the woods with all the goods from the black market.

A couple hours passed as Val back through the front door. He didn't expect Susan to be sober and reading in a corner. He quietly sneaked up behind and rubbed his face against her while making fox sounds. "What are you doing, Susan?" He tried to peep down at the book.

Susan practically jumps out of her skin when Val pops up. Rather then escape the physical contact she immediately snaps the book shut and shoves it into her bag and out of sight.

"But when I glanced at the book. There was some strange characters that I don't recognized. I thought you were reading in a different language." His voice trailed off as he stared at her. Val being carefree and bubbly just pushed the topic out of his mind. "You should get some rest! Where do you get your energy when you don't eat three meals a day." He picked Susan up and carried her to her room at the inn. Tucking her in like a child. "Goodnight. Sweet dreams." He whispered before closing the door.

"You can't put me to bed like I'm a child! Who do you think you are?!?!"
As she continues angrily ranting at Val Fluffernuter reappears nervously walking down the hallway carrying what appears to be a blanket.
"Well... ma'aam... I think he might have a point you haven't slept in about 48 hours."
"I AM NOT TIRED! I DO NOT NEED TO SLEEP!"
"Yes ma'am..."
Fluffernutter sighs and turns like he is about to leave but instead throws the blanket over Susan's head. She immediately falls to the ground and starts snoring.
He grins over at Val.
"Works every time. Throw a blanket over her head and she instantly passes out... kind of like a bird in a cage that way..."
He looks down at her sleeping form in the middle of the hallway.
"Don't... tell her I just did that... 'kay?"
He turns and really leaves abandoning Val with a loudly snoring Susan.

"It was that simple. I should try this more often." He picked her up once more, leaving the blanket still wrapped over Susan's head. Val placed her down on the bed and pulled the inn's blanket over her. Still not removing the previous one. He turn into a fox and curled up at the bottom end of the bed.

Several hours later Susan finally starts to wake up. Having spent her night tossing and turning she has managed to flip herself around and is presently using FoxVal as a pillow.

Susan's eyes snap open suddenly and she leaps back with a yelp promptly falling off the bed.
"Fuuuuuuuck"
She groans and looks up at the fox.
"Val, I have many questions. Why are you in fox form? Why are you in my room? And last, but by no means least, why in the hell are you in my bed?"

Azazel walks into Susan's room. "Susan, have you seen---" she stopped mid sentence and surveys the scene before her. Susan tangled in blankets and half on the floor with Val laying on the bed. She turns around, "Nope." and leaves again.

"I was making sure you have a good night's rest and didn't wander off in the middle of the night." He remained curled in the ball watching them. Val tilted his head when Azazel came in and left. Wondering why they were so active this morning. "Your assistant taught me a nice trick to put you to sleep. He was very helpful"
