    "Nah, it is a good workout since I am so weak." He laughed but put Susan down when Azazel asked about a tattoo.

    "Yeah, it is on my back. I would show you but I would have to to take off all the layers I have on." He crossed his arms. "I am surprised Demetri came back."

    At being released Susan scurries away from Val to what she feels is a safe distance.

    "So, you were 'born' with your tattoos? I'd be very interested in studying them!" Susan looks at the two demons with interest. "...Although neither of you are likely capable of holding still long enough."

    She tilts her head thoughtfully as if deeply considering something.

    "Perhaps... I should get a tattoo...."

    "You are welcome to study it anytime you want." Val said acting like his ignorant self. He shot Susan a cold, smug face when no one noticed. He playfully drop the collar of one of his layers past his shoulder to tease her. He laughed again before pulling it up.

    "I guess I should let the two love birds continue examining each others' body. But if you two start doing funny things then don't blame my big brother instincts to come smack you both." He stretched and started walking the opposite way of the inn, knowing those two are mostly likely going to head there.

    Susan blanched slightly at Val's sudden shift in expression and then finds the color returning to her face tenfold as he pretends to drop a layer of clothing.

    "You two can examine each other's tattoos on your own. I would hate to be a third wheel."

    Susan smirks and turns on her heel and starts following Val.

    "Val! I'll join you, if you promise to keep your clothing on...."

    Skull Crusher obediently follows, a pleased expression on his face.

    "Why are you following me when you don't even know where I am going. In fact, I don't even know where I am going." He stopped when he reached the edge of town. There was a peaceful lake and a dock to fish on. Val smiled and stepped onto the dock. Settling down at the edge and took off his geta. He stuck his feet into the water and leaned back.

    "I guess you have no choice but to stick with me now that your friend and bodyguard are stuck together." He chuckled and pulled out a small bottle of sake from his sleeve.

    Reaching the inn, Azazel makes a pit stop at the bar to get a plate of cookies before heading up to her room. She stuffs one in her mouth before looking down at her chestplate. "How do I take this thing off again.."

    She twists around and starts to tug at the various straps holding her armor on. Eventually the plate comes loose and she places it gently on her bed, leaving her in her light under-armor shirt. She turns her back to Skull Crusher, moves her hair, and tugs the collar of the back of her shirt down.

    On the back of her neck is an incredibly detailed and stylized depiction of a fox, its nine tails spread out behind it like a fan.

    "Your turn."

    To say that Susan looked uncomfortable and out of place would be an extreme understatement. She wasn't a person predisposed to peacefulness, and she certainly was not usually around this much.... nature.

    She looks warily at the ground before finally sighing and sitting down next to Val.

    "Yes, if I stay around them too long I may grow sick to my stomach, or get a cavity... but following you around isn't that bad. Especially not if you share that sake."

    Susan said with a grin.

    Skull Crusher almost looks a little bashful at the sight of Azazel without her armor. He examines the fox tattoo and chuckles. "That is a lovely tattoo, it suits you. Welp, fair is fair..."

    With a grin Skull Crusher removes his shirt revealing a large tattoo on his chest.

    "You're funny." He takes a drink out of the bottle and continues to hold it so that Susan couldn't take it. "Give me a reason why I should share this with you?"

    Val pulled out his pipe and took a long drag before blowing out a puffy of smoke. It was nice to be away from the town for a bit. He felt at ease once again, but seeing the vastness of the lake brought back the lonely feeling when he was living alone.

    He sighed and slid the bottle towards Susan with out saying a word.

    "I didn't think you would be around me this long. You're too intelligent for a dimwit like me. Don't I bore you out of your mind? You are probably better off reading a book in the library or making more...mechanical limbs."

    A loud siren howls through the city, similar to that of a air-raid warning. Townsfolk begin to scream and panic, and without missing a beat, stop what they are doing and begin to flee in various directions. The tavernkeeper closes his bar, and begins to fiddle with a latch underneath it.

    Susan grins and takes a drink of the sake.

    "I didn't think you would cave in so easily!"

    As he continues talking she rolls her eyes.

    "Well, books and mechanical limbs can't argue with me, and sometimes I just need to argue with someone. Besides, I think you are more intelligent than you let on, which makes you interesting if nothing else."

    She takes another drink of his sake as she studies him.

    "And why are you still allowing me to hang around you? I'm not exactly friendly, or kind, or likable wouldn't you be better off hanging around.... well anyone else?"

    Susan flinches at the sudden loudness of the sirens and covers her ears.
    "And what the hell is that noise?!?!"

    Azazel steps closer and inspects his tattoo. "Very nice," her eyes wandering.


    She freezes as the siren goes off. "God damn it. Can nothing go right for once." She hastily pulls her chestpiece back on, lays a quick kiss on Skull Crusher, and runs downstairs to see what the hell is going on.


    She runs up to the bartender and asks, "What is going on? What are the sirens for?"

    The fat bartender lets out a toothy grin (as much as he can with the few he is missing). "Ooooooh, ye' don't know? Sorry girlie, but everyman for hisself!"
    He opens up the latch revealing a tiny safe-house underneath the bar. He slides inside, laughs, and shuts it closed and locks it.

    The trapdoor seems to have some words inscribed on it, obscured by dust and grime.

    "Pfft, you are probably the most friendly and kindest person I've known other then Azazel. Everyone always feels uncomfortable around demons and cast us away."

    He paused for a bit as his voice lowers.

    "That's what I find beautiful about people. They don't have to appear attractive. It is how they interact with another being that shows their true self."

    Val's ear perked up at the sound of the sirens. He his jerked around to see what was going on and quickly got to his feet. He shoved his geta back on and started running towards the sound of the alarm to see what was going on.
