    He paused in thought for a moment.

    "Okay maybe I am a canine, but I am consider a human too."

    Val was too weak at the moment to struggle against Susan and was plopped down onto a chair.

    "What kind of a big brother am I, when I can't even protect my little sister."

    Suddenly Xhiero barges into the room. His eyes was intensely glowing red at the destruction caused to the inn.

    "What the fuck happened around here?" He growled. Noticing the hole, Xhiero could guess who it was.

    "I am going to make sure that thing knows the pains and tortures of all 18 levels of hell." He walks back out and slams the door behind him. It crashes into the wall and falls through.

    For what seems like the millionth time today Susan hugs Val, gently stroking his hair.

    "You are an excellent big brother. There was no way to protect her from that... She will be back, eventually. And when she returns, I am certain she won't blame you, not one bit."

    She pulls back and looks at him apologetically.

    "I am sorry, I am not the best at comforting people."

    "No. I know Azazel will come back. But the time she has to be alone without...that man. Of course you wouldn't understand. I don't think you've been in love before." He let out a half hearted chuckle.

    "There's nothing we can do right now. I just have to believe Azazel will return to her normal safe when we see her again. This isn't the first time she lost someone she liked to Jasper. I hope that man knows when to stop chasing her."

    Val wrapped his arms around Susan's waist and continues to lean on her. He felt relaxed again. He could smell the scent of cigarettes and alcohol on her clothes.

    Susan shakes her head and softly presses her lips to his forehead.

    "Glad no one cares about me as much as Azazel, otherwise you might have a giant snake after you too."

    He smiled at her question.

    "The real Susan is actually nice and caring. She likes to give Val hugs. Her eyes get misty when she breaks her interesting toy with fireballs. Shall I go on?"

    She seems almost relived at his response but then starts to scowl slightly as he describes her.

    "... You are making fun of me, Val. And who says I got misty? Or that I like hugging you?"

    She blushes slightly as she notes that she is in fact STILL hugging him.

    A tiny redheaded woman stumbles in through the hole in the wall. Paying no notice to the couple in the room she collapses into the nearest booth and falls asleep, a near empty bottle of rum dropping out of her hand and rolling away.

    "No. It feels nice." He snuggles his face into Susan's waist before lifted his head up. He stares at the woman who stumbles in. Val recognized the redhead woman from the time he tried to save Susan from Skull Crusher and his band of men.

    Xhiero returned into the room. He seemed to have calmed down but his brows were still scrunched together. He had been busy cleaning and repairing everything that broke in the inn.

    The reaper starts sweeping up the room of debris. He reached Vasani's body and sweept her out the room. He seems rather use to this sort of situation. Perhaps it brought back memories of Craze.

    Not long after Xhiero rolled Vasani's body away with the broom. An army of penguins filed in and repaired the floor in a matter of minutes before filing out.

    "Ahhhhhhhh....She seems...interesting..." Val said as he watched Xhiero walk in and sweep the woman away. Then a bunch of robotic penguins drilling the floorboards back in. "May be we should let Xhiero repair the inn. I feel like we are in the way."

    He stood up and held Susan's hand. Leading her out of the room. Val looked around not knowing where to go.

    Val walked with Susan to the back garden. It was slightly misty and refreshing. He was feeling a little tired and walked at a slow pace. They stopped upon a red bridge that overlooked a small stream. The fox demon leaned forward, putting his weight onto the wooden rail.

    "All the things you said earlier. Does this mean you like me?" He turned to look at Susan. Val's cheeks were turning slightly red, but he didn't flinch or fidget like he usually does.

    Color rushes to Susan's face as she continues to talk, not looking directly at Val.

    "Well... I mean... I... I... I may feel a...great deal of affection for you.... overwhelming feelings of concern..."

    Susan blushes more while flailing her arms and gives Val a helpless look.

    Val walked up to Susan and lifted her chin up. He leaned forward and pressed his lips against her's.

    "I am not going to avoid it anymore. I irritate you because I like you. I pout when you want to leave me. I let you boss me around because I want to be your's." Val slid his arms around Susan's waist and pulled her closer and hugged her. He gently nuzzled his cheek on her messy hair.

    "Does that answer most of your questions?"

    Is it possible for a human being tthro a tomato? Susan appears to be well on her way. She still isn't a fan of physical contact, yet, she seems to enjoy this.

    "I... I..." She clears her throat and tries again. "I suppose that does. Although I will always have many questions. For example..."

    She looks up at him an slight pout forming on her lips.
    "...Why are you so much better than me at that? And, can we do it again?"

    Susan happily returns the kiss but frowns as she pulls away.

    "I fear I may unintentionally cause you emotional harm. I'm not the nicest person, I am more likely to insult someone than compliment them. I am not particularly affectionate, and I can be quite cruel. Throwing your lot in with me may prove to be...unwise... Are you sure you're up for that?
