RP Free for All: Chapter 18

Footsteps can be heard briefly before the door swings open revealing the same man that had lead your party here before. "The King is ready for you."

Azazel leans into Xhiero, staring intently into his eyes, and whispers, "I love you," before standing up.

The guard's eyes spot the broken cuffs and his hand goes to the sword on his hip as he moves towards Azazel. "Why are you unbound?"

"Not my fault your cuffs are shit."

The faerie frowns and pulls out another set, binding Azazel again. "Your true form please. The King would like the court to see what you are."

Azazel hesitates and stares at him. "I have never had to do that on my previous visits." She casts a worried glance towards your group before revealing her ears and all tails.

"If you still would like to speak on her behalf please follow me." The guard grabs Azazel's arm and pushing her out of the room, leading your party back upstairs.

As you follow the guard, he leads you through another set of doors and into a large room. It's decorated in blacks, greys, and whites and maintains the organic feel that the rest of the city had outside.

At the far end of the room, a man, the king it is safe for you to assume, sits lazily atop a high, crystal throne that looks almost like it's carved from ice. His appearance seems to mirror that of the rest of the room with his long, silver hair and pale complexion with a crown of ice shards on his head.

The guard pushes Azazel forward before bowing deeply and moving away. The king looks down upon her, his countenance cold. "Azazel Morgenstern. Demon. You are brought before me to answer for your crimes against the fair folk. You are charged with the ruthless murder of 13 innocent faeries."

His gaze shifts to your party and leans back in his throne, fingers steepled before him. "I am told you wish to make a plea for her innocence. Very well. Speak."

"Yes. You arrested her for this crime, but what proof do you have that she killed them?" Xhiero said with his arms folded.

"It would be fair to give us time to investigate the matter. What if she is false accused by another demon."

The member 'Xhiero/Val' has done the following action : Roll them dice!

'd20' :

"These terrible crimes occurred approximately three days ago just outside the portal that joins Underhill to the rest of the Feywilds. We have witnesses that saw her in the area at that time, covered in blood."

Azazel cuts in at this point. "I am covered in blood most of the time I am conscious! That means nothing!"

The King stares at Azazel with a raised eyebrow. "This in conjunction with her reputation within the Feywilds makes her guilt somewhat obvious. Why should we waste time letting you investigate what is already clear?"

The member 'Susan Evensong' has done the following action : Roll them dice!

'd20' :

The King remains silent for a few minutes, studying your group. "Very well. I will give you three days to find whatever it is you think there is to find."

"She, however," he points at Azazel, "must remain here. We can not have her roam free."

"Once you find your 'proof' you can return and I will hear your findings before making a final judgement. If you do not come back for her, she will be put to death." The crowd gathered around the outskirts of the room start murmuring amongst themselves at this ruling. "You are all dismissed."

The guards move to take Azazel back to her room.

You find yourself back in the room you were in before. The guard escorting you looks to your party. "The ward on the door has been modified to allow the three you in and out to carry out your 'investigation'." With that he leaves you all to your own devices.

Azazel walks to the bed and falls on to it.

Sloan yawned as his eyes darted to the door. He exited the room and began to scout around the area when no one was looking.

"There must be some records on the crime around here."
