    Talia started to correct Susan again, but closed her mouth in defeat as the woman disappeared into the crowd.

    She shrugged and started on her way back to her modest home. "She seems nice."

    She put down her knife and walked out into her backyard briefly before returning with a small bundle of freshly plucked herbs.

    "Well if it isn't Miss Hot Head." A voice spoke from behind Susan. A man with red hair approach her with a smile.

    "Where's the usual bunch?" Damian asked as he looked around. "You're...alone."

    "You will be surprised to find out I often spend entire minutes all by myself. Although, to be honest I'm not sure where Val is, I woke up this morning and the house was empty, no note or anything."

    Pausing she tilts her head and studies Damien curiously.

    Talia frowned at Sloan disapprovingly, but otherwise said nothing regarding the bread.

    "You really think someone would have turned away a man on the brink of death." She shook her head vigorously. "I don't believe it."

    She dumped all her ingredients in a pot and covered it with a lid, leaving the sauce to simmer. "Do you think your friend will be coming tonight? I hope I made enough."

    "I am always in and out of that status. They usually don't last long." He blew a stray strand of hair from his face.

    "Relationship with a naughty guy doesn't last long. Plus the long distance stuff. We are always traveling back and forth, ya know?"

    "I can introduce you to a quite a handful who would leave a dying man. But that would end well would it?" Sloan chuckled before his eyebrows scrunched up.

    "She's not my friend. She's a walking chatter box that spits fire."

    Sloan sighed and leaned his weight onto the counter.

    "If it makes you happy, love." He said as he rolled his eyes.

    Damian gave Susan a nervous chuckle.

    "Oh she seems that way..but she's worse then a demon." He appear to fidget a bit before leaning towards Susan's ear.

    "She came aboard the ship one day asking for a ride to another town. She was going to be late for a performance. Cap't denied her and told her to leave. Layla stood straight up with the scariest face and approached the Cap't. She gave him a nasty stare and slapped him across the face. Ever since then she's been linger around and make sure we were in check."
