Seeing her allies starting the fight, Etheyl springs out and charges at the nearest bandits at the campfire. She spins and strikes at both of them, and seeing Shyre miss her target, throws a dagger into the man at the edge of the light.

Seeing the other bandit still standing, Etheyl runs after him. She makes a beeline past his buddy at the campfire, inviting him to try hitting her.

And...he does. I take 6 damage from his opportunity attack...BUT he then combusts. And dies.

With a flourish and a small burst of fire, Etheyl bears down on the bandit.

    He takes 3 damage!

Crumnley moves towards the cliff, reading an action to take a shot should the opprotunity arrise. The bandit looks panicked, as his options are.. severely limited. He decides that his life is worth more than this. He swings at Etheyl, dealing 4 damage, blooding and dazing her (and gets an opportunity to shift)! He than turns, and runs as fast and far away as he can away from your party.

    It is now Etheyl's turn!

Alas. The noose missed, and the bandit fled in to the darkness. The encounter is over! You got 85 exp.

Half-buried beside the campfire, you find a small, sealed lock-box. It seems like only a key would reveal it's mysteries... or a careful hand.

Crumnley stares in to the darkness where the bandit fled, and grumbles. Behind you sits the old mining shack, where your ultimate targets most likely hide. You notice three doors in to the building itself, two on the lower level, and one higher up.

At this point, you are in the middle of a short rest. You can wander around outside, heal up, and inspect your options. I wouldn't recommend making too much noise, however. Whenever you are ready, pick a door and head inside. No hesitating, now! There isn't much time!

Troy lets loose a string of swears as the last bandit evades all attacks and disappears into the night. He heads over to the campsite and digs up the lockbox. He's turns the box over and examines its locking mechanism. Nothing special. He pulls out a worn leather case and opens it to reveal a set of lockpicks of various sizes. He plucks a pick out of the case and inserts it into the lock, sticking his tongue out in concentration.

The small box clicks, and easily opens up. Inside, you find gold! Gold coins!

You split the bounty between your party, each of you getting 40 gold pieces. Nice.

A giggle is heard in the darkness. Spooked the party starts to reach for weapons until they see a halfling appear in the firelight twirling and laughing. She jumps up again trying to catch the fireflies that dance just out of her reach. She's wearing a long skirt that blooms when she spins, scarfs that flutter in the breeze, and a daisy chain crown she wove herself that is slightly too big for her head and keeps falling down over one eye.

Stumbling to a stop she sees she's being watched. A huge smile breaks out across her face.

Hi guys! Ooo you found shinies! Can I see?

She leaps forward and gets a small handful of coins before Troy snaps the lockbox shut nearly on her fingers. They had been traveling with her for a while and knew to keep some things away from her. She is unperturbed and pushes the daisy crown back up out of her eyes, the 40 gold disappearing into one of her many pockets and pouches.
