Xhiero grabbed a couple of the picture books and lifted Lexa onto her bed. He sat down next to her and opened one book.

"My mother use to read to me like this when I was little." Xhiero smiled and patted Lexa on head. "There's no need to be embarrassed about having picture books. All children have them. That is how they learn to read and get their vast imagination from."

The reaper starts to read through the books to Lexa.

"I am always ready to catch you..when you are ready to be caught." Val laughed. "I don't think the time is quite right yet."

Val followed Susan's gaze.

"Wouldn't hurt to check. We had too many invasions to let things go unnoticed." He said and sat up.

The tiefling carefully takes eyes the cans he had setup all around him, with one hand hovering just above his holstered revolver. In a moment, he draws his firearm and shoots;

One shot hits the first can, and ricochets to another. The second shot hits another can, and ricochets to the first can still in mid-air. The third shot ricochets off four cans.

Crumnley re-holsters his revolver, and takes a deep breath.

"That is so cool." Val watched the tiefling excited. He pulled a bar of soap from his pocket and flings it at the man, hoping he would have a cool reflex to it.

She lets out a low whistle as Crumnley holsters his gun.

"Did you need something, or did you just come to show off?"

Lexa listens to the stories, tail swishing contentedly behind her. She begins to lean her head.against Xhiero's shoulder, but bolts up at the sound of gunshots.

Crumnley draws his revolver and begins to reload it.

"I'm actually here due regarding our last talk; I have a job, and I am looking to recruit aid."

The tiefling finishes reloading, and takes a moment to stare at his revolver.

"As for what I am doing, Ms. Evensong, call it my morning ritual. Need to make sure my aim is impeccable, especially when on a heist."

Val picked up the bar of soap and stared at the damage.

"I will never understand guns.." He stuff the soap away and stood a distance away from the two. The demon sat down on a small rock and listened to the conversation.

Xhiero patted her head to calm her down from the gun shot.

"It is okay." He placed the book down and looked out the window. "Stay here. I will go see what the commotion is about."

The reaper stood up and walked outside towards the sound of gun shots. He found Susan and Val conversing with Crumnley.

Crumnley scowls in confusion.

"Susan, I don't even goddamn understand what that is supposed to imply. Regardless, she isn't actually here with me yet; she's visiting her parents. She'll be here soon, however, and we can talk about the job in more detail."

The tiefling begins to pick up the scattered cans.

"The job, as you know, involves a dear cousin of yours and his vast wealth. And with it, he's throwing a party. I'll need all the help I can get really, and the bounty is always split fairly."

Crumnley, now having fully collected all the cans, begins to head back inside.

"Tell me Ms. Evensong, how do you feel about working in catering?"

Lexa obediently stays put.... for all of five minutes before she can no longer sit still and chases after him. Staying a moderately safe distance away she stares wide eyed at Crumnley.

"As long as I have to do as little actual work as possible, I suppose I don't mind."

Crumnley walks in to the kitchen, and stares at her for a moment. He attempts to keep his scowl, but it slowly melts away.

"Hi."

The tiefling pats her head.

In the living room, the air itself twists and opens, forming a doorway that opens up. Etheyl Woodwell carefully steps halfway out and scans the room. She was always nervous about who she might startle with her father's shortcuts...but seeing the room clear, nods approvingly and precariously juggles some packages on one arm in order to shut the door, which promptly disappears as she releases the knob, emitting an oddly jaunty poof! and wisps of colorful smoke.

"Azazel?" she called out, unsure where her demonic friend was. "Lettin' you know I'm here, Dad opened me a shortcut."

She sets her little stack of care packages (Klumn and Vivi could get a little fussy when they knew she was going on some adventure or another) on a coffee table before wandering a bit to find a member of her group.

She first spots her husband in the kitchen...with a little tiefling girl. Aw man Azazel has a kid here! For all his grump and bluster, Etheyl loved watching Crumnley around children. She quietly leans against the entryway and watches the two for a while without announcing herself.

Susan twitches in irritation as she follows behind the tiefling.

"I imagine Etheyl would be a bit peeved if I set her husband on fire... even if he is resistant to the element..."

The child continues to stare silently at Crumnley. Finally she points at his horns then points to her own with an excited grin.

Azazel watches as more and more people pile into her kitchen. With a frown, she sets her cup of tea down. "What is going on now?"

She spots Etheyl lingering in the doorway and Azazel heads over to her with a broad grin and pats her head. "Etheyl! When did you get here?"

Crumnley pretends to not have heard Susan's remark and waves at his wife, who had just made a magical entrance.

He than turns and nods at the tiefling girl.

"I got 'em too. What's your name, little one?"

Etheyl waves at Susan and Crumnley and returns Azazel's grin. "Just now, actually. Got a shortcut from Klumn." Etheyl raises an eyebrow at the cup left behind. "Did...you always drink tea?" A bit of mischief then touches her grin. "Or a little girl?" She waggles her eyebrows just a little.

Lexa grins at Azazel and points at Crumnley. She holds a hand in front of her mouth fingers forming a pretend mustache. Wiggling her fingers, she begins laughing silently.

"Well, it would seem Lexa approves of your choice in facial hair." Susan smirks.
"When shall we leave? Oh, and hello Etheyl, lovely to see you again."

Crumnley smiles back at the little girl, but than attempts to put back on his scowl for Susan. "She's quiet. It's.. cute, I guess."

The mustached tiefling coughs, and heads upstairs, grabs his bags, and returns to the dining room table. He sets down his things, and unfolds various papers and maps.

"The first phase of it all begins tonight; and since it seems like most everyone is here, i'll explain. Tell me Susan, are you familiar with the Tasteful Melodies Catering company?"

Anyone can make history checks. Susan has advantage.

Etheyl's eyebrow rises another level as Azazel...acts...shyyyy? She wasn't too familiar with Xhiero yet, but leave it to her big tough Azazel to maybe? have a thing with a Reaper. Well, she'll leave it at a sly smile for now. Time will tell.

Turning to the tiefling girl, Etheyl kneels and holds her hand out to the girl. "Heya Lexa. I'm Etheyl, and I'm with the nice mustache guy, Crumnley. Maybe we can get together again after this job so we can get to know each other better." Etheyl smiles and imitates the girl's play-mustache. "Maybe we can convince him to come too. I think he likes you."

After trying to endear herself with the new girl, Etheyl comes to sit at the table with a little box she grabbed on a detour through the living room. She opens it, grabbing something flat from inside...then offers some naan to the rest of the table. She munches on it contentedly, but gets visibly more alert and serious when Crumnley starts laying out the plan.
