The creature bursts out from the cave and snarls at the party members that aren't presently hidden. As two daggers bounce harmlessly off of it the beholder seems to scoff before launching an attack at Azazel, Demetri and Xhiero.

Azazel is thrown backwards 30 feet and restrained by the beholder.
Xhiero falls asleep instantly.
Demetri is left completely unaffected by his ray, perhaps it backfired?

Val noticed the party crumbling behind him and turned around. He pulled out his daggers and sneaked towards the beholder. Attempted to throw his daggers at the beholder's eyes.
