Susan attempts to look out in to the hall, but a rat walking by startles her. She jumps up a little, and bangs her head on the top of the tunnel. Ow.
Sophia pushes the panel; it appears to be hinged on the top. Looking down, you see poisoned tipped spikes. And... is that confetti?

and there the throne that's key and keyed.
The iron men of visage grim do more than
meets the viewer's eye.

and now your soul will die.

Just a good ol' fashioned poison spike pit! You find the note from earlier, that congratulated you, as well as the confetti. This is clearly the last pit you fell in to.
Xhiero crawls out behind you, though, was not quite careful. He accidentally pricks himself on one of the spikes, poisoning himself for an hour and taking 15 DAMAGE as the poison rushes through his body.
