With your party's combined attacks, the gargoyle cracks, and crumbles apart!
The only thing left of the vile creature is a pile of rock, dust, and a choker necklace with ten gems embedded in it.
Klumn sighs with relief, trying to catch his breath. He readjusts his glasses, and smiles. "That.. that was magnificent! Hah.. excellent job!"
The gnome walks over, and lifts Manphia back to his feet.
"Perhaps.. now would be a good time for a break. Lunch, anyone?"

"Yay, lunchtime!" Val smiles at Klumn before collapsing onto the ground face first. He quickly falls asleep.

You place one gem inside the statue's hand. It fits snug. Than, in an instant, the statue crushes it with it's hand, and gem powder falls to the floor. The hand re-opens.

Susan is now left with a totally worthless necklace.
However, upon sticking the tenth gem in the hand.. and watching the gem get crushed..
the gargoyle statue speaks.

Susan runs her hand along the arm, and in it's palm she feels a gem, though does not see one. She picks up some sort of invisible gem in her hand, taking care to not drop it. It feels coated in a slimy substance.
