The gnome examines the rune carefully. "It appears to be a ward keeping this door shut. It shouldn't take much to bring it down."

He hands the gem back to Azazel. "Anyone got a Dispel Magic or Remove Curse spell?"

Xhiero descends the stairs, and turns the corner. He finds another set of stairs, followed by a longer hallway, approximately fifty feet in length. You notice that the air past the stairs is cloudy, with a slightly yellowish tint, growing thicker the farther you look down the hall.

Klumn coughs. "Ah.. okay. Sadly, scratching off the rune won't work."

The gnome pulls out his spell book, and a fine looking pen. "I can re-organize my spells, but this will take a while. I suggest you explore elsewhere in the meantime." Klumn than takes a seat on the floor. He spreads out his reagent pouches, little vials, and various texts. He wipes the first few pages of his spell book, sighs, and begins writing down all of his spells in to it once more.

Meanwhile, Xhiero smells the stench of decay and rot. Of death. He resists the fear gas, nor does it impede his vision. Down the path a bit about 20 feet from him, he notices a simple door.

Azazel descends in to the fear gas, but immediately submits to the effects. Shrieking nightmares fill her head, she wants to run. However, before she breathes in anymore, Xhiero kicks open the wooden door. The gas instantly dissipates.

Past the door is another dark staircase, lit by a room at the bottom. The staircase is around twenty feet long, and filled with thick cobwebs.

The torch gets stuck in the cobwebs. The fire from the simple torch does nothing, either. You can't pull it free.

Xhiero finds himself at the bottom of the web-covered steps! At his feet lies a silver-inlaid mace; it appears to glow with a faint radiant light as you stand over it.

The room before you is a crypt, filled with rotting and decayed furnishings that appeared to have been once very expensive, as well as other treasure and ornament scattered throughout the room. At the crypt's center sits a solid gold couch, with a skeletal figure sitting upon it clothed in black robes, and a crown upon it's head. It rises as you stand in the doorway, and points a finger towards Xhiero!

With a loud booming voice, it shouts;

"WHO DARES TO DISTURB THE REST OF ACERERAK? IT IS YOUR DEATH WHICH YOU HAVE FOUND!"

"Don't threaten death itself with death!" He groaned at the skeleton and cautiously stepped into the room. Circling around the skeleton.
