He hesitated a bit registering her last statement.
"Wait...WHAT!?!" Azazel had already disappeared through the portal. Xhiero ruffled his hair in frustration before darting off to find Gus to rely the message to Val and Susan.

Susan's obviously witty response is interrupted as Fluffernutter suddenly appears.
"Ms. Evensong, you don't want to exhaust your poor....date." He sniffs derisively at the word before continuing.
"I can keep you company while he naps. Would you like to dance?"
Susan scoffs and raises an eyebrow.
"How many years have you known me? Do you think I'd ever want to dance?"
"Of course ma'am, how silly of me. It's just...." he looks off into the distance. "Mrs. Del'Mar was looking for you and I thought if we were dancing she wouldn't-"
"Lets go." A suddenly much paler Susan cuts him off and drags him towards the dance floor.
"Enjoy your nap." Fluffernutter flashes Val an incredibly smug smirk as he is dragged away....odd.

Confused at what happened, Val watched as Susan dragged off Fluffernutter.
"I am sure she will be fine. She's a feisty one." He rubbed his eyes and forced himself to walk across the ball room towards the guest rooms. Val hesitated and turned around to look. From here he could still see the two. Fluffernutter's smug face was making Val uncomfortable. He plopped down in the corner where Azazel and Xhiero had camped out earlier and leaned back in the chair.
"Nothing will happen during a short nap, right?" He dozed off.
"I am sure she will be fine. She's a feisty one." He rubbed his eyes and forced himself to walk across the ball room towards the guest rooms. Val hesitated and turned around to look. "I have no idea!" Fluffernutter smiles innocently as the two begin to dance.
"So, why are you here, Fluffernutter?"
"Why else would I be here? To provide you with whatever you need ma'am, and right now you need company. Besides, I was invited, and I like parties!"
"Dutiful, as always. How long have you interned for me now, two years? What in the hell compelled you to sign up for multiple semesters?"
"Perhaps I was drawn to your sparkling personality ma'am."
The two stare into each other's eyes silently for a moment before simultaneously bursting out into hysterical laughter.
"Yes, and of course you were also amazed by my way with children!"
"And your charitable nature!" His chuckles subside and he becomes more serious. "Am I still your favorite?"
"You will always be my favorite intern, unless of course you stop being useful." She pulls away from him and yawns.
"I think I am going to look for Xhiero. Let Val know, will you?" Susan then turns and walks upstairs in search of the grumpy dragon.

Val toppled to the ground, landing face first. He quickly got to his feet at the sounds of gasping around him. His eyes landed the Fluffernutter walking away. No doubt it was that man. Val could still smell the trail of his scent.
"Hey! Nut Fluffs where do you think you are going after that?" Val stomped up to the other man and grabbed him by the collar. The fox demon tried to control his anger but continue to glare at the man.

Xhiero was unable to find Gus. He must be busy helping with the party. Luckily Xhiero bumped into Susan. He took a moment to catch his breath before explain to her how to return to the inn after the party.

"Next time you decide to knock me off my seat while I am asleep, I rip that smug look off your face." Val pushed Fluffernutters away and let go of his grip. He brushed the dirt as best as he could from his suit and made his way upstairs. Val noticed Susan and Xhiero talking and approached them.
