    Val smiled smugly at Azazel.

    "I guess this is what happens when a giant snake doesn't eat all the men around you."

    He paused to rub his chin.

    "How did it happen? You spent a great deal of time with Xhiero and found out how much you enjoy his company. What should my little sis do about these feelings? Hmmmm, that is all on you sis. Keep it all in and keep feeling oooooorrrrr."

    Val walked up to her and whispered into her ear.

    "Confess to him how you feel. Although I am not sure how he feels about you. I think you gatta break his walls some more before you shove some feels into him too." He laughed at the thought of the two. "You two are really like each other. So hopeless at love."

    "No, 'barely tolerates' is how he feels about Val and I. He clearly treats you in an entirely different way. I mean the man is practically playful when he is with you!"

    Susan leans back and lights a cigarette.

    "Yet, while you shouldn't underestimate his opinion of you, perhaps not telling him would be for the best, for now. I don't entirely understand these 'confessions' of love, it seems so messy, running around having feelings at people."

    She glances at Val and grins.

    "Although... it can occasionally be a good thing... But! We don't know how Xhiero feels, and I'm willing to bet that even Xhiero doesn't know how he feels, waiting might not be a bad idea. Provided some lovely lady (or giant snake....) doesn't come along and snap him up."

    Azazel grunts and, without another word, climbs up into the crow's nest. She pulls out her bag of cookies and settles in to wait out the trip back to Black Rose.

    "Fuck that."


    Instead she hits a button on her remote and teleports, appearing next to Azazel.


    "Oh, how cozy." She mutters sarcastically as she looks around the crow's nest. "What are you doing up here?"

    Susan replies with a smirk.


    "I assumed, due to the number of men Jasper had consumed, that you'd be more experienced with.... romantic bullshit." She shrugs. "But, I guess that stuff was mostly limited to sex, huh?"


    Rather stiffly, she pats Azazel on the shoulder.


    "There. There. It is okay." Seemingly satisfied with her attempt at comforting, Susan pulls her hand away.


    "You may be over thinking this. You like being around him. It gives you positive feelings. Continue to do that. You both have ridiculously long lifespans if stuff is meant to happen, it will , you don't have to figure it out this very instant. Although, the sooner you do, the sooner I can mock you about it."

    Azazel stares at the hand patting her shoulder and back to Susan. "All other men I have been with were merely a means to an end. There was no.. romance or feelings involved."


    Glaring at Susan she huffs out, "And I was perfectly fine riding it out quietly. And alone. Until you and Val started poking at me and making me think about it."

    She looks away, pointedly staring off into the distance, clearly uncomfortable with what she is about to say next.


    "And, you don't have to ride it out alone. I mean, I'm sure you could obviously talk to your brother. He seems to understand all that emotional crap. Or... you could talk to me... although I wouldn't really be of any help."


    Susan huffs with frustration.


    "Can't you just take up drinking? It would make things so much easier!"

    "Could you imagine the look of horror on his face?"


    She shakes her head and frowns.
    "Listen to me, I sound like a total fucking sap. 'You can talk to me Azazel'!" She mimics herself in a falsetto voice before pretending to vomit.


    "How have you resisted stabbing me? Let's talk about something more interesting.... I posit that the best and most enjoyable way to murder someone is to set them on fire. What say you Azazel?"

    Val had ventured off after Susan went to comfort Azazel.

    "They seem to be getting along so well lately." He frowned as he wandered aimlessly around the ship. Finally peeking into Xhiero's room only to find no one there.

    "Darn, we could've had some man to man talk about..manly stuff." he sighed and stepped into the room looking around. Nothing but piles of paper and bags of candy hidden in the drawers. "Is he really this simple? How boring."

    His eyes darted to the scythe leaning on the wall and glide his hand along the elaborate design near the blade. Val smirked and tried to lift the weapon from its resting area.

    The fox demon smiled at the fact that he could lift the weapon. He looked around the room for more things and slowly work his magic. Stuffing and wrapping before dragging the weapon outside the room to where Azazel would see it after she stopped focusing on Susan.

    The scythe had been wrapped to take on the shape of an axe. Nicely wrapped and tied with a bit bow. A tiny note saying.

    "For Azazel"

    Val snickered and stealth away.

    "Besides, there's something so fun about flame. A primitive force that somehow has managed to drive almost all human achievement. A power high certainly comes from it. I am bringer of flame. A force that is capable of fueling life, and I am using it to end yours!"


    Susan add a maniacal cackle for effect before grinning.

    Azazel smirks. "I suppose I can see your point. Regardless, I think I will stick to being in the thick of battle." She stands and stretches. "I am going to the kitchen to find something to drink if you wish to join me."

    After climbing down from the ladder, Azazel makes her way to the kitchen and happens across what looks suspiciously like a gift wrapped axe sitting in the hall outside Xhiero's room. Ever curious, she approaches and finds the tag and raises an eyebrow. "For me? That is odd." She hoists the package up and keeps on her path to the kitchen. "I shall open it in my quarters after I get some more of that tea."
