    "I don't feel any different with them repaired." Val tied his bell back to his waist. "It could all be a mind game. Making me think I need them to control myself."

    Val and Susan approach the shore and climbed into a small boat where a crewman was waiting. They were rowed to the ship where everyone else was prepared to set sail.

    Xhiero shoved a large chunk of the cookie into her mouth.
    "I feel they effect your sanity more then they would effect me. I saw you hiding outside the cave yesterday with Susan pestering you."

    Azazel freezes at the mention of her 'chat' with Susan. She takes the cookie out of her mouth and looks anywhere but at Xhiero while all of Susan and Val's words from the night before filled her mind again. "Th-That was nothing. Say when are we setting sail again?"

    Xhiero hears the commotion on deck and the ship moving.

    "Now? Looks like Val and Susan are back. It will take about a day to get back." He stood up and paced around his room looking for something to do.

    "A day is enough for more heart to heart bonding with Susan and Val, right? I am sure they have lots of stories to share about their romantic dates." He laughed as he starts shoving Azazel out of his room.

    "They are most likely going to look for you and I don't want none of that lovey dovey stuff in my room."

    Feeling somewhat stupid, Susan waits until Val isn't looking and ties the bell around her neck, pleased that the high collar of her lab coat covers it completely.

    When the hell did I become so sappy?

    "So, what is the first thing you plan to do when we return to Black Rose? Is the answer sleep? It is usually sleep...."

    "We are on a ship. For a day! How hard would it be for them to find you in the first hour?" He managed to shove her in front of the door but no further.

    "What am I suppose to say if they find you in my room? Besides what did you two talk about? It can't be that bad can it?"

    "Sleep sounds good. Especially sleeping with you." He laughed. "What do you have in mind when you get back? Turn me into a child again?"

    "No one bothers you! They would not look here!" Azazel's eyes widen when he inquires about the conversation. Her mouth opens and shuts, but nothing comes out. "Nevermind. I will find somewhere else. Pray for swift winds." She takes off down the hall at a rapid pace.

    "Is that a double entendre I hear, darling? Am I rubbing off on you?" Susan smirks and shakes her head.

    "No, I don't typically enjoy children, so I probably won't turn you into one. Although, you were pretty adorable. The world could do with more children as darling as that, especially if they can murder things with chopsticks." She grins slightly at the memory    .

    "Huh? Okay, now I am interested in what you two were talking about?" He crossed his arms at the dumbfound Azazel. As she bolted out of his room he stuck his head out of the cabin and yelled. "If you are not going to tell me, I will have to ask Val and Susan myself."

    "Gotcha...if we ever have kids, I should raise them up to be deadly chopstick assassins." Val sat down on a crate and stared out at the waters. He patted the space next to him for Susan to join.

    "Looks like we are on this ship for another day. Any ideas on things to keep use from rotting in boredom?"

    At the mention of having children Susan instantly pales and freezes in place. It is almost as if someone has shut of the power to her brain.

    Azazel shakes her head and makes for the stairs down into the hull of the ship. She finds a lovely dark corner and takes a seat on the floor. Nopenopenope.

    Val noticed her shutting off.

    "I was kidding! We don't have to have children. I don't even know if we can even make them." He began to sputter gibberish. "I don't even know how well I can take care of them."

    Xhiero sighed and followed after Azazel. He stared at her as she settles down on the floor. Flicking her forehead to snap her out of her nopings.

    "Hey. Why are you acting strange? I thought nothing affects you unless it is mint." He crossed his arms as he stared down at her. "Would it be better if I ask Susan about what you two discussed? Actually Val might be more comfortable to talk with."

    She gives him an apologetic look, though her eyes seem to be rapidly filling with panic.

    "It isn't your fault. It.... it just occurred to me that I'll be expected to produce... an heir... really that is a large part of why I'm betrothed. Whoever I someday wed, even if it is someone like Fernando, I'm going to have to produce one of those horrible parasitic creatures with." Susan flails her arms helplessly and appears to be hyperventilating.

    Val placed his hands on both side of Susan's face.

    "Don't think about it. You still have plenty of time. Worry about it later." He pulled her head closer and kissed her on the face. "Just move at your own pace.

    Val smiled at her despite feeling a bit sad that she seem to be unsure of who she will spend her future with.

    "Thoughts? You make it sound like you don't ever think." He leaned his back against the wall. "I rather not talk to those two. One is crazy and one is...also crazy. In slightly different ways."

    Susan seems to wind down somewhat in his grasp, her breathing finally returing to normal after a few minutes.

    "You know... if I had to produce horrible parasitic monsters with anyone, I'd rather it be with you." She sighs, seemingly exhausted from her earlier panic, and rests her head against his chest.


    "If you decide to stick around, I suppose...."

    Val's face suddenly turned bright red as he starts to fidget. His heart beat faster and faster.

    "Let's wait...for the future to see what happens." He smiled and gently stroke her head. Brushing his fingers through her hair. "I would like to stick around in your future."

    Azazel lets out a huge sigh as Xhiero leaves. I am going to murder Susan and Val. She gives Xhiero enough time to get to his room before she gets up and hunts down Val and Susan.


    She finds them locked in an embrace, but ignores it and glares. "I AM GOING TO MURDER YOU BOTH."
