RP Free for All: Chapter 10

The staircase is quite steep and leads down to compete darkened, luckily, it has a nifty hand rail! Zieffar is about to touch it when he realizes there is something... off... about it....

Etheyl scoffs. "The bloody handrails."

"And you all said the boy-king said it did deactivate traps? Bloody hell, I'd have hated to see it if we broke in. One win for asking nicely."

Etheyl eyes the handrail. This would be one of those stupid slide traps. But she always thought that.

She'd only ever encountered one.

But still.

+6 Perception

The member 'Etheyl Woodwell' has done the following action : Roll them dice!

The wizard smiles.

"I joke. I got something for this."

He snaps his fingers and conjures four dancing lights, spaced about 20 feet away from each other, descending the staircase up to 120 feet away. Each light only illuminates around 10 feet around it, but does give a slightly better view of the staircase.

Zieffar than investigates the hand-rail, attempting to determine if it is trapped, and what the trigger might be.

The member 'Dungeon Master Orange' has done the following action : Roll them dice!

Zieffar realizes that Etheyl was right, it is one of those stupid slide traps! It is certainly triggered by someone touching the railing! Even better, Zieffar can hear the hum of electricity coming from the railing. It sure would suck to grab that while trying to stop oneself from falling!

Zieffar and the rest of the party finally arrives at the bottom of the stairs, finding themselves in a cavernous temple. Zieffar's orbs of light do very little to pierce the deep darkness. However, as Lexa's feet touch the floor of the temple things begin to shift, a slight glow spreads from her across the floor and up the walls. Torches begin lighting themselves, cobwebs vanish, and previously damaged and crumbling areas are once again made whole. 

Lexa herself seems to shift as well, she seems more solemn and distant almost... less human. She examines the goings on with a small smile.

Zieffar smiles and pats Lexa on the head. "You are something else, friend."

He than follows after Azazel at a slightly slower pace, giving himself time to really get a good look at the temple they find themselves in. The wizard attempts to recall anything he may have learned in books or lectures to help make sense of his surroundings.
