RP Free for All: Chapter 15

The docks themselves seem a bit dull, there are several ships as well as groups of men sitting around gambling and drinking. A few Ladies of the Evening have gotten a head start "peddling their wares" and smile suggestively at Sloan.


Lexa frowns when she realizes a portion of their party has already scurried off and darts off after him. Eventually catching up she smiles broadly and grabs his sleeve, trying to avoid accidentally setting off the dagger this time.

The first thing Azazel notices about the room is all of the crossbows that have suddenly been pointed in their direction. About 20 guards reside within the large room poised to attack unwelcome intruders.

However, despite the abundance of guards, the room is set up much like a waiting room. There is even a large desk at which resides a secretary who smiles politely.

"Ah, hello, do you have an appointment?"

"Oh wonderful!" The woman smiles. "His majesty loves visitors! Do you have an appointment already or would you like to schedule one?" She pulls out a clipboard and flips through some of the papers on it.

Lexa flinches as her shirt collar is grabbed, not noticing this isn't immediately followed by pain her eyes pop back open and she looks at him with confusion. 

"Ah, yes, our next available appointment is...." She flips through more papers. "Next Tuesday!" 

She smiles warmly at Azazel.

"Shall I pencil you in?"

"Ah there they are!" Sloan smiled and dripped Lexa down onto the ground. He pushed her towards the castle.

"Go on. Your friends are waiting for you." He crossed his arms and tapped his foot as he waited for Lexa to leave.


Xhiero hated using his title to get through things but it was worth a try this time.

"I am Hero Yumisaki of the Black Rose Kingdom. I came here on urgent matters that can only be discussed with your king. We are in a bit of a rush and cannot stay that long. I hope you understand. Please let us speak with him."

The woman looks back and forth between Xhiero and Azazel, a somewhat nervous expression rests on her face. Biting her lip as she contemplates what to do, she finally sighs and pushes away from the desk and stands. 

"Would the two of you please come with me for a moment?"

Lexa stares at Sloan for a moment then scribbles a note.


[Mr. Sloan, did those women sell seafood?]

Xhiero nodded to the woman and followed after her quietly. His eyes wandered to the guards and archer before turning back to his guide.

"...no."

He grabbed Lexa by the wrist and dragged her into the castle.

"Excuse me, pardon me. Lost child needs to be reunited with her guardians as soon as possible." Sloan growled when he noticed the archers and guards. He pointed to Azazel and Xhiero as he attempt to catch up with them.

"Look it is your mama and papa, right?"

Lexa manages to scribble one more note as Sloan drags her.


[But Oghma said they had crabs. Are they not selling them?]



The woman blinks in surprise at the two newcomers.

"And who might you two be?"

Lexa smiles and bows politely to the woman.


"And so they are trustworthy? Are they capable of keeping.... secrets?"


At Azazel's statement, Lexa looks up at her with a wounded expression and hugs her leg tightly.

The woman looks back and forth between the group before ushering them all into a private room with a sigh. Once everyone has made themselves comfortable, she takes a deep breath and begins.

"I am afraid that no one can see the king.... he has gone missing...."
