The statute ignores Val completely, never losing focus on the suddenly very nervous child.
At Riorden's suggestion, Lexa, somewhat reluctantly, wriggles free from Val's grasp and approaches the statute. It continues to stare silently at her with glowing eyes before dropping to one knee, placing a hand under its stone chest and bowing.
She looks back to the rest of the party with eyes as wide as saucers. Her expression seems to hold a pretty clear question.
Now what?

Riorden grins as the statue kneels. "I would say to give it a command, but.. "
He scratches his neck and studies the statue. "Perhaps you can project your will onto it? Make it go back to where it belongs."

Slowly and nervously, Lexa reaches out and touches the sta
she focuses intensely, and soon her eyes begin to glow. Lexa turns her head to look at the rest of the party, and simultaneously, the statue turns as well. Lexa grins broadly, and the statue scoops her up, then scoops up the rest of the group as well, carrying them towards Azazel's house.
"So.... problem solved?" Susan jokes as they are carried.
"Sorry to drag you into such an odd adventure, Mr. Davri."

"That would be kind of you. I still need to locate an inn. The place I visited was already booked full, but said I could try again later today."

"You really think your presence will bother her more than the living statue presently trampling her petunias?" Susan asks with a smirk guiding him inside.
"Val, darling, in a completely unsurprising development, I am going to drink.... copiously... meet you inside." She calls over her shoulder, grinning at Val.
Once inside, Susan directs Riorden to the bar.
"Well, Mr. Davir, what is your drink of choice?" She asks as she peruses the bottles.

Looking around, Susan quickly spots the scotch and pours him a glass, before pouring herself some vodka.
"It is amazing that a woman who doesn't drink manages to keep her bar so well stocked." Susan sighs as she delicately perches on a stool next to Riorden.
"To museums." Susan says holding up her glass with a grin.

"You'd be shocked by just how often it happens." Susan sighs as she sips her drink more slowly this time. "Yet, I find that I can take care of myself."

When Val and I left, there were four people loitering about the premises. Now they all seem to have vanished." Susan bites her lip mild (very mild) concern in her expression.

"Naw. I prefer not to fight friendly targets." He yawned and stretched his arms out into the air.
"I am going to go for a walk through the forest. May be run around and stretch my foxy legs. Be back later, kiddo." Val smiled and patted Lexa's head before turning into a fox and darting off.
"No one really notices the rule. I've been touched multiple times after it has been up." Xhiero shook his head and sigh.
"Rules only encourages Azazel to break them. I think she has done more then simply touch poor Xhiero." He laughed and takes a bite out of the cake.
