"A giant crow?! Oh wow! I'd love to see something like that some day." He says eyes wide with interest.
"I lived in a small kingdom, most notable for it's library of interesting and dangerous books. My parents were librarians there. I didn't see much of them growing up, books like those tend to have a mind of their own, they require a lot of supervision. But, one day the king began spending more and more time there, and it became clear that he was losing his mind. He blamed the library and had it closed, insisting that the library was too dangerous." He sighs.
"Without a job the money began to dry up, our parents couldn't afford to feed my siblings and I. So, to make things less difficult, the kids were sent away. They sent me off to the big city to work for an alchemist that lived there. I went back home to visit on my first day off and they were gone. The neighbors said they'd moved, and I haven't seen them since."
"Unfortunately, taking a ship is pretty much the only way to reach our destination." Susan sighs. "Now, are you going to let me show you or aren't you?"
