    Darkspear sees an opportunity. Sure, Vasani might make it to the finish line, but unless he does something.. Panzer might retaliate, and WIN. Darkspear charges forward, and makes a great leap right on to Panzer, pinning him to the ground!

    Vasani glares daggers at her attackers, and then looks up to the flag to make sure it was still attached to the pole. She shuffles as far away as she can and takes a minute to regain her energy.

    I'm too lazy to make a map to just move two squares, but I'm gonna move 2 squares directly to the right.

    Second wind has been blown, bringing my HP back up to
    13 damage taken outta 28. And increases defenses by 2 until the end of my next turn.

    Cameron, at the same time, also spots the swapped out flag! Oh god. That little kid and that flag can be anywhere by now. He finally gets his footing in the snow, and heads out in to the middle of the field. Cameron scans the field, and miraculously spots Metah! However, he doesn't point him out, and instead quietly informs Tabby where she is. He also readies an action.

    Sven is too distracted by his skirmish with Daan and Donovan to notice the flag swap. Just as expected, Sven retaliates by charging DONOVAN!

    WHAM! Sven deals a finishing blow for 14 "damage"! Donovan falls in to the snow. "I am.. sorry.. Vasani.. I tried!"

    Sven rushes to Box's side, and in a melodramatic voice, lets Boxershorts know that he has been avenged. Box grins, and unexpectedly kisses Sven on the cheek.

    Sven is now STUNNED!

    I'm too far from the flag to help much and I can barely move in this stuff. Phedre casts around looking for somewhere to be helpful and sees Daan prone and bloodied not too far from her. This would have been a good time to finish off some competition but it would put Roro too far away to help. Cameron however is much closer.

    rolling to attack Daan Cameron with Bastion of Defense +7 vs AC (standard)
    on hit 3d8 +4 and Roro gains a +1 power bonus to all defenses until end of encounter. Effect: Roro gains temporary 8 (5+ Char mod of 3) hit points.

    You got this Ro! You can do it!

    Improved Inspiring Word, Roro can spend a healing surge (or I do still figuring that out) and gets 1d6 +3 hit points back (minor)

    Kept measuring it but just couldn't keep Ro in range of my abilities. So Cameron is getting walloped instead Smile Taking this round to learn my abilities Smile Interesting class, I'm hoping to get the hang of it.

    Healing surges, at the moment, are how players determine they're reserve health. It is usually 1/4th of their total health, and each player and enemy usually has a certain amount of surges per day before they take an extended rest. If you are healing yourself than you use up one of your surges per day, but if you heal someone else they use up theirs. That all being said..

    Cameron takes a whopping 18 damage, and Roro is healed for 19 HP!

    Also, Warlord is neat. A lot of their skills seem to revolve around shouting at your friends to make them feel better or granting people the ability to move and attack.

    "Hah! This has been the most entertaining year that I can remember, and it saddens me to cut it short; but as you can see behind me, our guests are arriving early."

    On the horizon you can make out the vague shapes of six large birds flying towards Red Terrace.

    "And if any of you oh-so observant scouts of mine have been paying attention, you would have noticed that our little Metah has swiped the flag right under your noses, and replaced it with a pair of underwear. I do believe that declares her the winner of this year's games. Let's give a hand for Metah and his excellent creative interpretation of the rules."

    "Now than, I want you, Cameron, to make sure that Mah Kahn and Bishop Crane are all ready for our arrivals. Sven? Go with Cameron with the scarves and deliver them to your father. Roro, Brandis, and Box, I want you three to go make sure there is enough feed for their mounts. Panzer? Go pick up Darkspear, dust the poor boy off, than go fetch my my rifle polish.     Annie shoos the rest of the scouts off, and directs her attention towards Vasani and Metah. "Metah, I believe this envelope is for you. You earned it, use it well. And Vasani, I noticed that you knew that your flag had been swiped, yet still carried on. You take stubbornness to a whole new level, and I admire that. Tell Bear at his general store to give you a half-off discount off any one thing you want, as a consolation for not getting a chance to finish today's game. Bear owes me one, so let Phedre and Tabitha get that discount too, the four of you performed excellently.     The four of you (I AM ASSUMING) fly out to greet Red Terrace's visitors. You make out the forms of two armored dwarven guards riding on the backs of decorated burrowing owls, riding alongside a third dwarf who is dressed similar to Mah Kahn. Behind the group, you notice three cardinals carrying elven riders, decorated with the emblems of the great elven capital of Gold'are. On one of the large birds rides an eladrin man, also dressed as a druid, with a young eladrin woman wearing a blindfold riding behind him. On the other two birds you see elven guards wavin-- WAIT IS THAT TEN? TEN FORE? IT IS! AND HIS BEST FRIEND UH WHAT WAS HIS NAME HE ALWAYS HUNG OUT WITH HIM ALL THE TIME.. OH YEAH! GIDEON! GIDEON.. SHEPARD? WAIT IS HE RELATED TO VASANI?

    The two excited bros are waving and shouting so hard they nearly fall off their mounts.

    Phedre places the coupon in her belt pouch. She hasn't the slightest idea of what to buy or where to start but this coupon could be quite valuable very soon.

    Hey so I got a playtest for D&D's new edition. It is clearly still in early stages, but some of this crap is cool looking, and I might use some mechanics here. Hell I think this version might be the only version that your sister, Beth, might try, seeing as they are bringing back a lot of mechanics from 3rd edition back.

    One of the new mechanics is the idea of "advantage" and "disadvantage", which I will use in place of my super secret DM skill check bonuses. So if you bullshit really well, or explain in depth what you are doing with your skill check, and it is amazing, I will give you the advantage. What that means is that you can make a second dice roll and use the higher check. And yes, that also means if you just make up some really crappy bullshitting or just do the skill check for all the wrong reasons (intimidating someone who is named John the Fearless) I will give you the disadvantage, meaning that you make two rolls, and use the lower one.

    Also, I will use what I like to call the "Susan Diplomacy Rule". (One of Cassie / Metah's old characters). Basically, the rules more clearly state that if someone makes an amazing story or narrative or reasoning behind a check, but flops on the roll, I can freely choose to ignore the dice and let them succeed (or fail?).

    Vasani glumly takes the half off coupon and heads off to greet the visitors. She comes to a halt as she recognizes the familiar form of her older brother and a calculating grin spreads across her face, her loss completely forgotten.

    She nudges Jax to make a wide arc towards the group, trying to remain unnoticed. As she nears the visitors she stands on Jax's back and steadies herself before launching herself at her brother, tackling him off his own bird.
