Initially, Lexa seems extremely wary about allowing the stranger to touch her, but she does not have the energy to resist.
The child's breathing once again returns to normal and her whole body seems to relax. Standing, she smiles and bows gratefully to the woman, and then does the same for Val and Azazel.
The woman smiles brightly at Lexa before turning to Azazel. "I will find my own way home. I'm not riding that beast of yours again. Do you even have a permit for that thing?"
Azazel smirks and shrugs. "You are off duty are you not? Pretend you never saw her. We appreciate the assistance."
The eladrin closes her eyes and shakes her head, clearly someone used too dealing with Azazel. Without another word she leaves the house.
Still smirking, Azazel ruffles Lexa's hair as she walks by on the way to her room. "Get some rest, kid."
"It has been a long journey. Time for bed you little runt." Val scooped Lexa off the couch and carried her to her room. He tucked her into her bed and pulled the blanket over her. Patting her on the head until she fell asleep.
Lexa fidgets and tries to escape for several minutes, clearly reluctant to fall asleep. However, eventually she gives up and allows sleep to overcome her.
Back in her room, Azazel changes into sleep shorts and a tank. With a sigh she throws open her windows to let in a breeze before reclining in her bed with a book. However, she quickly gets bored and sets it aside.
Leaning over the edge of her bed, she pulls a small sharpening kit out from under the bed and starts to sharpen all her hidden weapons.
With a chuckle Susan wraps her arms around Val's neck.
"Quite the homemaker today, aren't you? You seem to enjoy caring for the Little God a great deal." She teases allowing him to carry her without protest.
"I don't think demons have parents, but it does feel disheartening for a child to not have a family and having to carry out a destiny that god has placed upon her. I want her to know what it is like to have a family at least." Val smiled and pecked Susan on the cheek.
When they arrived in their room. Val put her onto the bed.
"A promise is a promise." He smiled and pulled his obi, letting his clothes slowly fall apart. Val began to undo Susan's clothes after his'.
Azazel hears shuffling outside her window. A hand raises up and grabs the window sill.
Azazel grabs a couple of daggers out of the pile of knives on her bed and moved to stand next to the window, waiting for the intruder to climb through.
After a long struggle the owner of the hand manages to pull herself up. She stares at the dagger pointed at her when she made it past the window.
"Why are the people in this world so aggressive? There is no need to be alarm, Ms. Morgenstern. I've come to look for Xhiero." She looks around the room, realizing it was not the front door. The girl quickly bows in apology to Azazel. "Forgive me. I thought the portal would have dropped me off at the front door. No wonder I found myself on the side of your house. May I...come in?"
She lifted her hands to her mouth to cover her shyness.
Val kissed Susan on the head before snuggling his head onto her's and drifted off to sleep.
"We only met briefly before...b-but Xhiero talks a lot about you when he is tutoring me."
"I am one of princesses of the underworld. Xhiero was assigned by my father to me my mentor and body guard. We had a lecture assigned a few days ago but he failed to show up, which is not like him. I here without my father knowing to find out...although I failed to do so accurately."
"Right. I remember you." Azazel lowers her arm, but still keeps a grip on the blade. "I just got home. I have not seen him in several days. I thought he may have been working, but if you have not seen him... "
Azazel frowns deeply and starts to pace. "I do not even know where to begin looking for him."
"I wish I could be more helpful but I am afraid I have to return soon." She looks around the area as if to find something. "Has anyone...died in your home before?"
"Ahh excellent!" The girl beamed and walked over towards the doorway. She began to cast a spell as a large gust of wind erupt in the room, knocking Azazel over. Everything goes dark.
Azazel feels someone shaking her awake.
"Excuse me. I am sorry. I haven't learned to control my powers yet. The spirit said that it last saw Xhiero heading towards the town of Kevash. That is as far as he can see. I don't think Xhiero meant to leave here. His belonging and scythe are still in his room. Someone in Kevash might know of his whereabouts."
The princess digs into her sleeves and pulls out a medium pouch of coins and hands it to Azazel.
"I have to take my leave, before anyone finds me missing. I hope this will be enough for your troubles. I am terrible sorry! I hope you can find him." With that said a portal opens up beneath her and she sinks into the void.
Apparently the princess does no know currency is different between the world. She has given you a handful of hell coins.
Azazel bids the princess farewell before grimly changing into her armor. She makes her way down to Xhiero's room to collect his scythe and puts it in her bag. "You really need to stop with this getting kidnapped nonsense. I am going to get grey hairs."
She pens a note telling Val what was going on and pins it to the fridge then heads to Kevash. Staring around the town square, she frowns. "Who do I even start with?"
"5 more minutes, Susan." Val muttered as he wrapped his arms around her waist and rolled over. He snuggled his head into her chest and goes back to sleep.
Azazel eventually found herself wandering towards the dock where they had their recent date. Closer inspection of the ground she could see faint marks of blood. Bits and pieces of broken drawing pencils. A trail of blood leading towards a narrow stairway to the lower areas of the dock. Laying on the side of the pathway you find a battered and bloodied sketchbook.
Looking around the docks, most of the ships seem to have left for the week. However at the furthest end of the dock a ship sits alone. The designs look familiar but not quite the same as one you have seen before.
Azazel picks up the sketchbook with a frown, running her hand over the cover before tucking it into her bag. She heads over to the lone ship and looks for any sign of Xhiero.
