    "I spend a great deal of time alone, it is not so unusual. And it has been a rough day." Azazel studies his disguise in curiosity for a moment before following his gaze out to the water, and weakly chuckles. "I probably could use a drink. Perhaps a whole cask."


    She watches the water in silence a moment before speaking up again. "You are right. I owe you thanks. Even... even if I was too late, I could not have made it as far as I did without you. I am in your debt."

    He looked at her in confusion.

    "Did you not save the kingdom?"

    Sloan stood up and brushed the sand from his clothes. He held his hand out towards Azazel.

    "Thanks to you I am a wanted man on both ends now. Your payment better be worth it."

    Azazel takes his hand and pulls herself to her feet. "I meant what I said. I was not trying to save the kingdom. I do not give a damn about the forsaken kingdom."


    She dusts herself free of sand and looks to Sloan. "I stand by what I said to you before. I will do all I can to protect you. On top of paying my debt."

    The elf smiles at her before bursting into a fit of laughter.

    "What kind of a man would I be if I need a woman I admire to protect me. All I am asking as payment...is your friendship."

    He turned to look at the kingdom.

    "You shouldn't say such things about the kingdom. You will make your boyfriend sad. He worked hard to protect the people and his home. He's probably heartbroken that it nearly fell by his own hands."

    Azazel smirks. "That is a waste of a debt. You could have got that on your own. But, as you wish."


    She scowls and starts walking towards no where in particular, but feeling the need to move. "I suppose so, but there is not enough good in me to blindly care about a kingdom and its people that has done nothing for me."

    "Enough of this softy, gross talk. I have places to be. Enjoy your stay." He waved to her as he walked away. "Smile more, may be your day will get better."

    Val returned the embrace.

    "It is okay. We are all fine now. I promise that I will protect you." He smiled.

    "You did escape in the dream didn't you."

    "Yes, thanks to you. It was quite impressive you know. You rushing in  shouting things like 'leave her alone you bastards!' And 'You're going to regret hurting her you sons of bitches!' I felt so important!" She teases.

    Sloan raised an eyebrow at Azazel.

    "You want leave this place? I wasn't planning on staying here long, love."

    He patted her on the shoulder.

    "I like you, but I don't think my ship is ready to house a demonic woman like you. Don't you have unfinished business you are running away from?"

    Sloan continue to walk along the shore until he arrived at a small boat with one of his crewmen waiting.

    Val covered his face and groan.

    "Now that all is well again. What are we to do here..."

    "I would like nothing more than to leave this place." Azazel looks out to the water. "But I should see this through.. one way or another."


    "And gods forbid I destroy your ship." She smirks and leans in to kiss his cheek before she walks away laughing. "Til we meet again."




    Azazel makes her way back into the castle. "Time to face the music..." She begins looking for where they were holding Xhiero.

    Sloan stared at Azazel as she walked away after the kiss.

    "Does this mean I have a chance?!?" He yelled out after her.

    Back in the castle, Azazel nearly bumps into Dorian as he passes by with a platter.

    "Excuse me." The butler apologizes. His expression changed when he realized it was Azazel. "Oh, Ms. Morgenstern. How are you doing?"

    Susan frowns slightly. She has a feeling that if their dreams are being messed with, all is not well... Oh well, they did have more pressing matters to deal with.


    "First of all, don't groan so seeing you so protective is... nice in a way." She smirks.


    "Should we try to discover how Xhiero is fairing? Or Azazel?"

    "He is in his room, miss. I am afraid he's been asleep since he passed out. I made some food for him...but I am not sure if he will be awake." The old man lifted up the platter slightly as the lid clattered against the metal plate from his shaking hands.

    "I am sorry. I didn't mean to show such nervousness around you."

    "Yes, that sounds like a good idea. We haven't seen Xhiero since they carried him off. I am worried for Azazel too." Val smiled weakly and held onto Susan's hand as he walked her out of the room.

    He returned the smile to her and handed her the platter.

    "It might make him happier to wake up to your face then an old man like me." He bowed to her before disappearing down the hallway.

    Val walked with Susan down the hallway. It didn't take him long to spot Azazel.

    "Aaaaaaaazi!" Val waved to her from down the hall and runs towards her. "Are you going to visit Xhi-chan? Would you like us to accompany you? Or do you want to be alone?"

    Azazel nods to Val and Susan, making her way to Xhiero's room with tray in hand. "I am not entirely sure what I will be walking into. You are welcome to come if you wish."


    She knocks on the bedroom door, schooling her face into an expressionless mask,  before opening it and walking inside. "I brought you food."

    As the group open the door to Xhiero's room, they find him still asleep but rather in an uncomfortable position.

    It looks like he might have slide out of the bed from intense sleeping.

    Val blinked and carefully approached the limp body. He prods at Xhiero's face before pulling him back into the bed.

    Azazel sets the tray of food on the bedside table and sits next to Xhiero on the bed. Hesitantly, she smoothes his hair and looks down at him. She silently wills him to wake up so she can just know  what she is dealing with.

    Xhiero's eyes slowly opened. He put a hand over his face to shield his eyes from the light emitting through his window.

    "Am I in heaven because I see a beautiful angel in front of me."

    Val pinched Susan on her other cheek at the stupid pun. He slaps his forehead when Xhiero said a cheesy pick up line.
