Demetri writhes in pain on Azazel's bed. He twitches and contort, gripping the hole in his chest. Black oil seeps from the sound, staining the bed.
"S-sister it.. it hurts.. it hurts so much.. "
A trembled hand reaches out for Azazel.
Cyrcill lies in the bed, and Lexa pinned to the wall by Etheyl. The small girl smiles with uncontrolled ecstasy. "We have knowledge. We can all be free now."
She leans in towards Etheyl, the knife cutting the tiefling's throat.
"Free.."
The room bursts in to flame, shrapnel and cries of pain. The poachers flail and drop their weapons, pressing their hands to their heads and digging their nails in to their skin. The flames burn away at them, and they peel off their flesh. Distorted skeletons rip out from the bodies, and charge towards Val!
The broken bones of one pierces Val's chest for 19 DAMAGE, and the burning from their mangled bodies harms him for another 12 FIRE DAMAGE. The creatures rip out of the bodies one by one, growing in number and surrounding Val.
"I did. We met many times in the past, reaper, but we do not often get a chance to speak so plainly. It always ends in your death, over, and over."
In the void, you see bodies placed around you; Eight in total.
Each of them has your face, but with slight variations. They appear to be you of different eras, different realms, different cultures. All of them lie dead, with a deep black wound in the chest.
The Lich begins to fade back in to the void.
"And when we meet again, that too will end in your death. The cycle will begin anew."
All of you awake the early morning, just before the sun rises. Despite what you knew to be true or untrue, the experience leaves you uncontrollably shaken.
Azazel finds no corpse of a brother in her room. Val finds himself asleep in the hall, curled up in a ball. Lexa still lies in her bed, and Etheyl still in the chair nearby. Susan still in her own bed, with a small cut on her cheek; a small trickle of blood going down the side of her face.
