Demetri stands, and saunters about the bedroom.

"An interesting place you find yourself here; I could get used to a kingdom like this.. I will have to remember to add it to my list of desired places to conquer."

The Demon King grins, but.. something is off. It feels half-hearted and forced.

"Something is clearly wrong, darling sister, you aren't acting yourself. That is hardly the greeting I expect from you."

You watch as he pulls out a pipe, not unlike one you have seen on Val, and attempts to light it. However.. his hands tremble. Eventually, he ends up setting it aside.

There is a few moments of sitting in silence, before the Demon King eventually speaks.

"Azazel.. what was in that safe? What did that key unlock..?"

You notice Demetri's face is more gaunt than normal, he almost appears slightly malnourished.

"Azazel.. would you believe me if I said that I only found that key that morning. I found it discarded in the woods, and immediately became intrigued. I did my research, and quickly whisked myself away to the Celestial Library where.. I ran in to you and your friends. I thought, what a lovely coincidence, I could simply take advantage of you fools and to do all the work for me, and grant me access to the treasure I had stumbled upon only that morning.

But when we opened that door.."

The Demon King stops for a moment, his face wincing in pain slightly. He rubs his forehead with his hand, and continues speaking.

"Finding that key wasn't coincidence.. it was left there for me to find."

Through her powerful presence of mind, Lexa feels the presence of a man entering her bedroom. He stands in the doorway, staring at the sleeping child.

A voice penetrates her mind and dreams, speaking directly to her and Etheyl.

"I have come to.. apologize."

Etheyl bolts up and a hand goes to where she would normally keep a dagger...but apparently her dream self was unarmed. She dismissed the thought of conjuring one. Not likely to be useful anyway.

"I can not imagine it being a coincidence, but the question is why us? Or perhaps it is demons in general?" She rubs at her face. "We likely will not know until he wants us to."

"Try not to dwell." She squeezes Demetri's shoulder and smirks at him. "Worry is not a good look for you, brother. You look like shit."

Val woke up late the next day. He rolled out of bed and smiled at Susan sleeping in a chair. Gently moving her to the bed, he tucked her in and crept out of the room.

"Where would they put Xhiero..." Val begin to walk the hallways to explore the castle.

The Demon King's body tenses as you touch him, but he does not fight it this time. He smiles, if only for a moment. "You are right darling sister, worry does murder for my complexion."

You notice that he looks aged beyond his years.

"Sister.. I haven't slept in weeks. I keep.. having nightmares..

Azazel.. for the first time I..

I fear death."

Cyrill's face frowns with sadness, his heartfelt entrance had already started poorly. "Lexicon.. it is me, don't you recognize me? I wanted to apologize for what I have done to you.. I wanted to bury the hatchet."

Susan feels her lover leave her, and the emptiness of her bed. Fatigue has taken her over, however, and does not do much to fight it.

You feel a form move through your room. You question what Val is doing now..

But.. it isn't Val.

Someone else is in your room.

Your eyes open wide awake.

"Though know that I will help you fight this dickhead, to the bitter end." She smirks at him again. " Then you can get your sorely needed beauty sleep."

"And sneaking into my room in the middle of the night seemed like the best way to do that?" There is a flicker of something behind Lexa's eyes at the mention of that name.

Demetri shakes his head at Azazel. "No Azazel.. we do not know what death feels like. We aren't supposed to.

Azazel I--.."

He pauses, staring at you intently. His expression looks almost horrified.

"Azazel... you look.. very ill."

Cyrill looks down in shame, his past crimes come flooding back to his mind. He sits down on the bed beside Lexa, and strokes her face.

"I.. had a revelation. My hatred for you, my hatred for Oghma was without proper reasoning. I acted out of passion, without truly thinking.

I don't hate anymore. I want to make amends."

You awaken to find the room filled with armed men, wearing dark colors, carrying guns and nets. There are seven of them in total, and they are surrounding your bed. They aim their weapons.

"The fox isn't here." one poacher mutters to the other. "It was supposed to be here."

The other shrugs. "We'll find it. We have ways."

The halls of Blackrose are silent at night. Val find himself at peace, as the place has a special air of tranquility that he rarely finds in most cities.

The silence is interrupted by a gunshot coming from his bedroom.

Xhiero finds himself in an abyss. Cold, and harsh.

Etheyl maintains her stillness, watching Cyril like a hawk. Her hatred had not subsided, and the suspicion was overwhelming.

She wanted to wake up, to confront the situation physically...but to do so would eject both her and Lexa out, would it not?

Something is wrong. But I won't risk upsetting a balance by waking up just yet.

She would count on Lexa to tell her when and if to act.
She continues her intense observation.

The shot pierced the pillow behnd her; there is a cut down her cheek where the bullet grazed her, her gaze immediately snaps to Val. She looks annoyed, but there is also a great deal of relief in eyes.

"And where have you been?!" Susan complains before launching a.scorching ray at three opponents.

A shudder runs through Lexa at the wrongness of being touched by Cyrill of all people. Attempting to control her own surge of hatred, Lexa's dream self nods reluctantly.

Demetri's face continues to grow more confused, more horrified.

"Sister.. your face.. it looks.. hollow.....

When did--"

His voice cuts out and he coughs. Blood is on his lips.

He looks down, to see your hand piercing his chest. Crimson flowing down your arm.

"S-Sister..?"

Cyrill smiles. "Oh, how it rekindles my heart to hear you say that. I don't hate anymore Lexa, don't you understand how much that means? It makes me feel so free.

I don't hate Oghma anymore. I can't."

Cyrill brushes the side of her cheek again, smiling in the same manner a father would comfort a crying child.

"I don't hate Oghma because he's dead, Lexa. All of the gods are dead."

Two of the seven armed men burst in to flames from the scorching ray. Their screams of twisted pain echo through the bedroom.

"There he is.." One of the poachers says with a grin. Two of the armed men take aim, and fire at Susan! +5 to Attack! 2d8+2 Per Attack!

The other three armed men take a net, and attempt to restrain Val in it!

Make a dexterity check!

The dark Lich fades in to existence. "Dead again, reaper. However, this time is different. You are dead in the mind, rather than body.

A pity that I could not add it to my collection."
